A house surrounded by nature, built to the highest energy standards

The house blends harmoniously into the small village and respects the existing architectural heritage. At the same time, its modern, understated architecture adds a contemporary touch. Clean lines characterise both the exterior and interior of the building, emphasising the minimalist architectural approach.

The prescribed pitched roof shape was deliberately adopted and given a contemporary interpretation, ensuring that the building blends naturally into the village landscape. The innovative best wood CLT BOX – ROOF system was used for the roof structure. The open box element allows for rapid assembly, meets high energy efficiency requirements right up to Passive House standard, and is also visually appealing. Another distinctive feature of the building is the exposed ceilings made of Scandinavian spruce: the ‘best wood CLT – CEILING’ and ‘best wood CLT BOX – CEILING FS’, which meet sound insulation and fire safety requirements. They characterise the interiors with their natural aesthetic, authentically showcase the material of wood and lend the building a timeless, high-quality appearance.

The house meets the GEAK A/A or CECB A/A energy standard (according to the official Swiss certification system) and thus belongs to the highest efficiency class. It embodies a approach to construction that relies on forward-looking technologies. These include high-performance insulation materials, controlled ventilation and the use of photovoltaic systems to harness renewable energy.

Overall, the project embodies modern construction that combines design restraint with high energy efficiency and materials made out of wood. The result is a contemporary living concept in which design, energy requirements and the use of materials have been considered as a whole.
