Natural building materials for the office
Office building in Langenargen with insulated best wood CLT BOX as a flat roof Sustainable timber construction in a modern and functional design
When existing space becomes scarce, an extension is needed. So Strabag GmbH and Ed. Züblin AG came up with the idea of an additional free-standing building on the Krumme Jauchert campus, which is connected to the main building via a corridor. A modern and sustainable office complex with a total area of 930 square metres, which only took around twelve months to build.
The clients placed great importance on natural and sustainable building materials when constructing the detached extension. A total of 264 cubic metres of timber were used, which - compared to conventional construction - resulted in a saving of 170 tonnes of CO2. One highlight: the flat roof, for which our best wood CLT BOX elements in visible quality "Scandinavian spruce sanded" were used.
The compartments of the box girder elements were completely filled at the factory with best wood FIBRE wood fibre air injected insulation. This meant that the elements could be delivered to the construction site ready for installation. The ceiling area with the elements covers a total of 273 m², whereby 52.9 m³ of wood and 28.3 m³ of FIBRE insulation were used.
