Ecological timber frame construction with finished ceiling elements
The Zimmerei Lothar Heine has built a detached house in Achberg im Allgäu with the first sand yellow best wood CLT – CEILING, with impressive results. It was important to the builders to have an ecological construction method with natural flair.
The decision to have the visible wooden ceiling in sanded sand yellow wasn’t difficult to make. The sand yellow creates a soft, warm contrast to the white walls and the decorative wooden elements at the windows. The mineral colour is applied to the ceilings in the factory, and scores points because of its integrated UV protection. Both the paint and the wood underneath it are diffusion-open, i.e. vapor-permeable. This is how the ceiling creates a natural living climate.
The building has also been insulated with wood. best wood WALL 180 has been attached to the walls as plaster baseboard. On the roof, best wood TOP 140 provides efficient protection from the heat in summer and keeps out the cold in winter.
